Neuro-Affirming Therapy
At With Connection, we don't just see therapy as a tool for change; we see it as a space for affirmation, growth, and celebration. We understand that being neurodivergent is part of the child’s identity—not something to erase or hide. By honoring every child’s unique way of engaging with the world, we help them thrive as they are, not by changing them, but by empowering them to be their best, most authentic selves.
We see all children in-person at our clinic’s office in NE Portland, Oregon tucked between the Irvington and Sullivan’s Gulch Neighborhoods. We work with parents in-person in Portland and online throughout Oregon and Washington.
Why we do what we do:
We want all children to feel confident.
We know masking can cause children stress and anxiety.
Our goal is to support children and families in feeling empowered, emotionally secure, and valued.
What Does Neuro-Affirming Therapy at With Connection Look Like?
At With Connection, we support children in being who they are, focusing on their strengths, supporting their growth, and working to understand the meaning behind behaviors. We offer in-person child therapy in our office in Portland, Oregon. When children feel seen and understood, stress behaviors naturally reduce, and we see more regulated, confident, and cooperative kids.
We want to know what excites your child, what keeps them engaged, and how we can use their passions and strengths to guide their growth. Therapy is a collaborative process where we tailor our approach to fit your child's world.
Parenting Your Neurodivergent Child
We recognize that parenting a neurodivergent child can sometimes feel overwhelming, exhausting, and isolating. The path to meeting your child’s needs may not always look how you imagined it would, and this can bring up feelings of grief, confusion, or loneliness. We offer Therapy for Parents to Oregon and Washington residents.
We deeply value and honor your experience as a parent. We believe that the most powerful way to create positive change is by including you in the process of therapy. You are the foundation of your child’s team, and we are here to support both you and your child on this journey.
